Lily Luna had a pet rat. Uncle Ron always seemed particulary nervous around it.
Friendly reminder to all of you peeps out there that use ‘Hufflepuff’ as an insult; Not a single Hufflepuff fled the grounds when it came to the final battle. x
Well, the Slytherins were forced to leave, so it’s not as if that house particularly had a choice…
But Hufflepuff shouldn’t be an insult because why the fuck would you insult loyalty?! like, that’s one of the best & most important traits to have and it’s right there in their house motto… Hufflepuff as an insult is really pathetic & lacking in creativity for the same reasons people saying “All Slytherins are evil” really shows a lack of imagination & creativity. And folks assuming all Gryffindors = good, ahahaha.
When you’re depressed, when you’re in bed and feel like you can’t get out, you can’t imagine doing work or accomplishing anything or anybody loving you. So when you look around you and you see these things happening to other people, they look like magic to you. They look that exotic, that strange, that impossible. And when you begin to crawl out of the pit and reengage with the world, it seems very magical. It felt as though getting out of bed yesterday was impossible, but now you’re doing it. Just by returning to daily life, you’re a magician.
- this is an article I highly recommend whether or not you’re a writer or a reader or both or neither- it’s a really good look at the fantasy genre by Lev Grossman (an author who I feel will become a classic along with the ranks of Rowling, Tolkien, Lewis etc etc- his books have that potential. You grow up WITH the books, as an adult which is amazing- not many adult series can manage to also be a coming of age story ending with the character at age 31) with a focus on depression, coming into his own as a person and writer, realizing that fantasy doesn’t mean unintellectual and most people who think that are pretty pretentious etc etc. He just has a way about him and his writing. I don’t know how to explain it. He’s really quite amazing with wordcrafting.
